DOC ALLIANCE SELECTION // 2013

In 2013 the Doc Alliance is proud to welcome Doclisboa as its seventh partner and has chosen a new procedure for selecting the films that will be screened at Visions du Réel, Planete Doc Film Festival Warsaw, FID Marseille, IDFF Jihlava, Doclisboa, DOK Leipzig and CPH:DOX Copenhagen in the Doc Alliance Selection section. Each member festival proposes a film and a film critic and will screen a minimum of 3 out of the 7 nominated films...
The film critics have formed a Jury and have selected the film:
CATIVERO / CAPTIVITY directed by André Gil Mata
The winner accepted the Doc Alliance Selection Award on May 20, 2013 at the Cannes film festival.

About the field kitchen as a model of a world where food preparation becomes a fight strategy; a fight for great ideals standing on strong legs of the kitchen table. The film is based on eleven recipes of the cooks since the Second World War till the war in Tchechenia; from France through the Balkans to Russia.
